Baby Boy, buying Hay, Bulls Out
Leon Tate Campbell made his entrance into the world just before midnight on Monday March 2nd. He and Amy are both doing well. Tuesday morning was a special time as the kids all made their way down stairs to meet their new little brother. We are thankful. And blessed beyond what we deserve.
No meat deliveries or trips to the processor this week, so it was the perfect time for the baby to come. Amy did a good job of taking it easy the rest of the week, even through she’s never really been the take it easy type. The kids appreciated a week off from their studies. And it was a beautiful week for some extra play outside.
We bought about 200 rolls of hay over the weekend. Probably more than we needed to get us through spring, but I’d rather have some extra on standby in case of a dry summer. Still feeding a lot.
We took our two bulls out of the fall calving herd to prevent calves from being born in the dead of winter. One of which then proceeded to make his way through the fence and get in with another group of yearlings that we didn’t want to get bred. After some some cow shuffling, I got them all situated where they’re supposed to be.
That’s about all I know for the week. I’ll be at the Abingdon Farmers Market tomorrow from 10-noon with pasture raised beef, pork, chicken, and eggs. See you there!
Have a good week.
